Animal Care & Control Committee
The City of Southport, Indiana, in the exercise of it’s governmental responsibilities, should draft and adopt policies and ordinances to support, promote and protect the safety, sanitation and humane treatment, harborage and control of animals within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City, to safeguard the citizens of Southport and their animals.
Board of Public Safety
This Board is a governing agency of the city specifically created to provide public safety services in Southport for residents and visitors by enforcing laws, administering regulatory programs, managing records, educating the public and managing emergencies, both directly and through interaction with other agencies.
Board of Public Works
This Board is a governing agency charged with responsible stewardship of the public assets in our city and as such is specifically responsible for protecting, maintaining and developing the city infrastructure in Southport such as streets, roadways, drainage, sidewalks and facilities.
